To whom it may concern:  My grandmother was Susan Texanna Perryman and I have a cousin that is now deceased and traced her back as far as Susanna Emery.  Susanna was married to Hartwell Johnson, Sr on March 26, 1782.    They had at least one child, Hartwell Johnson, Jr who married Lydia (Sparrow?) Johnson who show in the Polk, Co Mo census records for 1850.  If my information is correct, Susanna would be my grandmother's great grandmother.  I have been trying for several years to locate something on her.   I would be happy to send what information that I have to see if you can verify what I have is correct.

In our VA Emry line, we have Robert Emry b. 1706, d. 1789, his son Charles, Robert Emry b. 1773, d. bef. 1857, all in Fauquier Co., VA.  The next generation changes the spelling to Embry.  Does anyone have Robert, Thomas, William or Charles Emry in their line?  Thank you.

I am new to researching my Husbands family of Emery's. Harry Emery b abt 1865 in PA and d. 1955 in NM He married Josephine Haskell daughter of Porter Haskell and Nancy Hoover. Harry Emery went to Veternarian school in Canada and he and Josephine honeymooned in Canada. Their c. Louise b. ?; Charles b. 1900;Florence Rose b. 1894 in PA d. 1972 in PA. Clarion Co. I believe the father of Harry was James William Emery b. abt 1842 m. Louisa. I found James and Louisa in the 1880 Census for Clarion Burrough, PA with children Harry (age matches my Harry); Frank (my Harry had a bro. Frank-age match); Lorzella and John L. If anyoine is researching this line, I could really use some help. A cousin has told me about a 3 volume set of Geneology and Personal History in which there are Emery's listed in his volume in the index, but he does not have this Volume. It was done by the Allegany Valley PA. Historical Society and published in 1913. If anyone has this set, I would be more than happy to pay for copies of these pages done on the Emery's. Josiah Lyman EMERY

Seeking info on Josiah Lyman EMERY. Born 1827 in Ohio, possibly Clermont County. Info from family members sayt father is William EMERY but no info known about him. Mother is Elizabeth McALLISTER. Josiah married Margaret McALLISTER. They had 5 children Nellie Belle EMERY is my great grandmother. Nellie was born 1864 in Griggsville, Pike County, Illinois. She had 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Margaret died in 1873 and Josiah married a woman named Sarah who had a sister Mrs. American SHELDON in Kansas. Sarah's family lived in Kansas per info from letters written in our possession. Would like to find further info to trace the EMERY line back. Any help would be appreciated.

My great grandmother was Nettie Belle EMERY daughter of Josiah Lyman EMERY and Margaret McALLISTER. Nettie was the third child of five. Elizabeth EMERY born Jun 1860, Mary Helen EMERY born 15 Dec 1861, Nettie Belle EMERY born 4 Apr 1864, George EMERY born abt 1866, and Margaret Ellen EMERY born abt 1869. Nettie married Thomas Jefferson DOLBOW also of Griggsville, Pike County, Illinois. Mary Helen EMERY married Lewis Franklin ECCLES. Josiah was listed on 1860, 1870 and 1880 Pike County, Illinois Census in Griggsville as J. L. EMERY and it says he was born in Ohio. Family info says his father was William EMERY and mother Elizabeth MCALLISTER, but no further info is known. Anyone recognize these names in their lines? Would love to identify the EMERY line further back.

Richard Emery - 1687

I am researching the provenance of a rare book that was published in 1659. On one of the last pages of the book is a decoration done in ink by a Richard Emery which says "Richard Emery, his Boke, Anno Dom. 1687". The only Richard Emery I have been able to track down was a Deacon and Priest of the Parish of Lichfield and was educated at Cambridge University. The only problem is that this fellow died around 1677-78 and so could not have been the owner of the book. Does anyone know of any other Richard Emery who lived around the time of 1687?

I am looking for my grandfathers family. His name was Arthur James Emery, born in Worthing, Sussex, Dec. 5, 1888. He moved to Hastings when he was 12 years old and lived on Norht Road. He had two sisters, one named either Olive or Annie and one named Lily, and a brother named George. His father was Daniel and his mother was Annie. He attended the Greenwich Naval School and served in the Royal Navy during the first world war. If you have any info on his family I would appreciate finding out.
