In the "1889-1989 Town of Emery Centennial Book", in one of the
paragraphs of how the town organized it reads - "The town of Emery was organized January 9, 1889, and comprises all of township 37, N Range 2 and 3 East, from the town of Worcester, and section 2 of township 36, Range 2 East from the township of Hackett."
In the Emery's History page there is a part that reads - "Interestingly
enough, it was the Chairman of the Town of Worcester, Roser, who gave our town it's name. He had two very close friends whose last names were Emery and Hackett. He named two of the newly formed towns after them. He also named his two children, Charels Hackett Roser and Pearl Emery Roser. They must have been good friends, indeed."
On another page they has some excerpts from "The Phillips Times".
