A Brief Description of Some of the
Emry/Emery Lines
In my research I came across what seem to be at least three or four
distinct Emry family lines in the U.S. I have listed more than 3, but do not
know if some of these are distinct from the 3 I am sure of. I don't have enough
information to connect them or conclude that they are not related. For some of
these, I received the information from people that I wrote, primarily in
California, with the Emry surname. The individuals that I or others have found
furthest back that used Emry or Emery as a surname in each line are:

accuracy of these lines. It is always good that you confirm the sources for
each.
There are other potential Emry/Emery lines that I have not listed
that you can find in the queries or in the guestbook.
The Emry/Emery lines have migrated from countries like Ireland, England, and
Germany to countries that are now the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and
Brazil. They have evolved from names like McEmery, Emery, Hummerich,
Adcock, and others. I hope to re-organize these pages in the near
future to better aid in research of Emry/Emery ancestors from and to different
parts of the world.
I would like to note that the descriptions that follow are by no
means complete or intended to supply a family history of that particular line. I
do not guarantee their accuracy. I have included them in the hopes that it may
help in some way anyone embarking on genealogy research of an Emry line of their
own.
