Conrad Hummerich immigrated from Germany to New Jersey, possibly in 1707. The Hummerich name eventually changed to Emery in Hunterdon Co., NJ. The name took many forms, the most common spelling was Emery. The name is found spelled Emry for some lines of Conrads descendants. Conrad Hummerich made his will, 1 June, 1756, admitted to probate, 21 May, 1757, Hunterdon Co. His wife was Margreth (last name unknown.) His children, all born in Hunterdon, Co., NJ were:

  1. Margaret, b. ca. 1733

  3. Jacob, b. ca. 1737
  4. Peter, b. ca. 1739, married Catharine Apgar
  5. John b. 1 Jan., 1742
  6. Henry, b. ca. 1743
  7. Catharine, b. ca.1747
  8. William, b. ca. 1750

Jacob, the eldest son, married Eva or Eva Gertruda (?). Baptismal and birth records of their children were given in the Evangelical Reformed Church, Lebanon, Hunterdon Co. Some of the children remained in NJ. Son Conrad moved to Fayette Co., PA, later to Muskingum Co., OH.
